Volunteer Opportunity: WACC 2025 WorldQuest competition

The World Affairs Council of Charlotte (WACC) will be hosting the 2025 Joint WorldQuest/ Academic WorldQuest competition, their 16th annual global knowledge competition and the largest international education event in the region, on November 20th at the Hilton Charlotte Center City from 5:30 to 9:00

About the event
Most of their volunteers will need to be on-site from 5:15 - 9:15 pm on the evening of Thursday, November 20th. Those who help with registration may have an opportunity to play as "fillers" in open tables, if interested in doing so. All volunteers will be provided with dinner for the evening. They will need help in the following areas:
Greeters and Registration: Arrive no later than 5:00 pm; will include distribution of name tags and checking in players for the evening
Scorekeepers (4): Two teams of two volunteers; must be comfortable working with Excel spreadsheets; responsible for entering scores into spreadsheet, running final calculations, and helping to review challenges to questions if needed
Judges (14): There will be two sets of judges, one for AWQ and one for WQ. Must be comfortable quickly "grading" the answer sheets and calculating scores
Timekeeper (1): Most questions are answered in 30 seconds; will signal the emcee for the evening when time is up for each question.
Runners (5-10): Responsible for picking up answer sheets from assigned rows and delivering them to the judges (no running involved, just a prompt walk!)
Break-down (5+): Anyone who can stay past 9:15 pm to help them breakdown
